March 14-April 4 • GCC membership discount to R3: A Gothic
Tale
2003
November 2003• Gothic Council of Chicago Inception
Founders Galen and Linda held the first meetings to find
people in Chicago's gothic and industrial music and culture communities
who would like to become part of this project. This project was
originally conceived after Linda and Galen went to an event in
Milwaukee, WI. organized by a group somewhat posthumously known as the
Milwaukee Gothic Council. While the "Milwaukee Gothic Council" is
really just a joke name, there were talented and dedicated people in
Milwaukee's "scene" who gathered together under that moniker and put on
great events that held not only a love of the music and culture, but
also of community and comradery. This is what the Gothic Council of
Chicago (GCC) was formed to promote and foster, but to go further as an
official non-profit arts organization.
